HVAC
Stands for Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
Air Conditioner
A system unit used to remove humidity and reduce the temperature in a home or building with options of filtration and air purification.
Heat Pump
A reverse cycle air conditioner unit which can heat or cool using the refrigeration system. A heat pump is more efficient in the heating mode than electric strip heat.
SEER Rating
SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating. It is the measure of how efficient your air conditioner will be if it is installed properly.
MERV
MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value. It is a rating from 1-16 relative to an air filter’s efficiency. The higher the MERV the more efficient the air filter is. at removing particles.
Tonnage
The size of your air conditioning system is rated in Tons. One Ton is equal to 12,000 BTU’s (British Thermal Units). It is important that you install a properly sized unit for the structure ignorer to ensure efficiency and longevity.
Filter
The filtration system on your AC pulls air through a removable/changeable filter which traps contaminants from recirculating into the air you breathe.
Duct
Your ductwork is how the air moves through the home. Sizing ducts properly is important to cooling and efficiency. Improper ducts size can cause excessive runtime and high electric bills.

Regular maintenance prolongs the life of your unit and saves you money on your power bill.
During maintenance cleaning the coils and drain components of your air conditioner are completed. It is also checked for signs of failure to prevent a costly service call or breakdown.
Why should you maintain your air conditioner?
